Jordan, a scientist from the States, is holding an endangered bird called the Umbrella Bird that him and his crew caught in nets placed high up in the forest canopy. His research project is partly sponsored by Disney.

Carlos holding a rare bird called the oil bird. It is from the amazon region of Ecuador (completely opposite side of Ecuador from Bilsa), so finding it in Bilsa was very unlikely. (Jordan and his research team caught it in the high canopy nets)

This bird picture was taken with Luis, a scientist from Quito who was researching birds of Bilsa. On this day Kate and I joined Luis and helped him collect data.
